Refund Policy

The flight-booking services that Cheap Fly Fare offers (including other services and fees such as Convenience & Service Fees) are non-refundable. For any cancellations, please call our travel specialists on +1 (866) 558 1610 — cancellation requests are accepted by phone only.

Acceptance of refund requests

Cheap Fly Fare accepts refund requests only if:

  • You have applied for a cancellation and refund with us;
  • The fare rules of the booked ticket provide for cancellation and refunds;
  • You are not a “no-show”. No-show bookings make passengers ineligible for any kind of waiver from the airline or supplier;
  • We are given the necessary waivers from the relevant supplier to process the cancellation and refund.

Timeline for processing refunds

While there is no fixed timeline we can guarantee, refunds usually take between 60 and 90 days to be fully processed. This period is calculated from the time you initiate a refund request with us until the amount reflects in your bank account or original payment method. Some financial institutions may take longer to post credits on their side.

Steps involved in processing a refund

Once you raise a cancellation request with our customer service team, we send you an email confirming receipt. This confirmation does not imply that you qualify for a refund — it serves only as an acknowledgement of your request.

We then work directly with the airline or supplier to obtain a waiver, which depends on the airline's and supplier's own rules. Once they confirm their decision, we share it with you in writing. Please note that we are entirely dependent on the suppliers and airlines for the outcome. If the refund is approved, we will notify you and credit the amount back to your original payment method.

Our service fees associated with the original travel are non-refundable.

All refund fees are charged on a per-ticket, per-person basis. However, if we are able to secure a waiver of this fee from the airline or supplier, we will release that amount back to you.

Our ‘refund against cancellation’ policy

If you cancel a reservation by calling our customer-service team at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled flight departure, we will consider your refund request and process it with the relevant airline, taking the airline's own refund-against-cancellation policy into account.

We make every effort to display the correct itinerary details and airfares on every booking page. Occasionally, a display error may occur and a booking may be confirmed before we identify and fix the discrepancy. If the corrected fare is higher than the displayed fare, you may either agree to pay the difference or choose to cancel the booking.

If the airline approves your cancellation and refund request, we will credit the refund to the account used to make the original payment. Refunds are typically processed within 24 to 72 business hours for cancellations made within the airline void window, and within 4 to 5 business weeks for cancellations made after the void window. The exact timing may depend on the transaction system of your financial institution.

If a refund is credited to you twice in error, you are liable to return the excess amount to Cheap Fly Fare.

Exchange and cancellation policies & fees

All confirmed airline trips are, by default, 100% non-refundable. In certain cases, your request for cancellation and refund may be granted by the airline if you cancel the trip by calling our customer-service team more than 24 hours before the scheduled departure. Partially used tickets — on one-way, round-trip or multi-city itineraries — can neither be cancelled nor refunded.

A non-refundable ticket may only be exchanged for a new one at an equal or higher fare, not at a lower fare, for travel with the same airline on a different date. Exchange of non-refundable tickets is subject to the airline's service policy.

Airlines may levy a penalty, and a fare difference may apply during the exchange of non-refundable tickets. Credit for such tickets is usually valid for a limited period of time. You are required to check and confirm the specific expiry date with the airline directly. To avoid loss of the credit, you must book a trip with the same airline using the credit, and pay the airline's penalty as well as any additional fare difference, within the expiry window.

We will only cancel a confirmed trip when permitted by the relevant airline. Confirmed itineraries are usually not changeable. We can attempt to process a change in the details of a confirmed trip (for example, a change of travel dates, departure point, arrival point or entire route), but it is subject to the airline's policy. If the requested change is permitted, airline penalty, fare difference and a change/exchange fee from us are applicable. Please contact our travel specialists to know the total cost of exchanging your trip for a new trip with the requested change.

Modification of a reservation, for example a change of travel dates, is a time-consuming process. It may take up to 72 hours for a modification request to be completed. You agree to waive any damage or loss that may occur to you due to a delay in modification. Confirmation of your requested change by the airline is out of our control.

Please contact Cheap Fly Fare rather than calling the operating airline directly for itinerary modifications or booking cancellations. If you get a booking rescheduled or cancelled by the airline directly, we may not be able to assist you with the changes or with a refund, as the control of your reservation moves to the airline. In such cases, refund timelines may also be longer than usual.

If you contact the airline yourself for a modification, for instance a change of date, you may receive an additional invoice from Cheap Fly Fare reflecting our modification fee and the penalty you are responsible to pay in accordance with our Terms & Conditions.

If you are unable to travel due to a medical condition after your reservation is confirmed, you can (a) cancel the ticket by paying the airline penalty and our service fee, if the ticket is refundable; (b) change the travel dates by paying the airline penalty, our service fee and any fare difference, if the ticket is changeable; or (c) keep the ticket in open status for travel within a specific period, if the airline allows, by paying the airline penalty, our service fee and any fare difference. Otherwise, the entire value of the ticket may be forfeited.

We reserve the right to levy a service fee per ticket for rendering our services towards cancellation of a booking, change of travel date in a booking, and exchange of non-refundable tickets. We offer a 24-hour free cancellation window for reservations referred to us by our partner websites, from the time of booking.

Please contact us to confirm the current applicable service fee. Airline penalty, fare difference, and our service fee vary depending on ticket type, travel class and route.
